The 3 Roles of a Creative Person
This article from the Behance’s 99u, is brilliant and makes a whole bunch of sense to me. It talks about the 3 roles (artist, editor and agent) that a creative professional must learn to organize while working.
I bought a new moleskin sketchbook! Stay tuned for some new drawings and characters!
Learning About Responsive Web Design!
So after working on the updates for my website recently, I started to think about web in the present day. I had talked with a web developer not too long ago about websites and designing for the web, and he said “definitely check out ‘Responsive Web Design!’,” and so I did. What I came across was very exciting stuff!
For those of you who don’t know what Responsive Web Design is, it’s the current solution to serving a website to so many varying web ready devices (ie. large iMac computer screens, all the way down to (hi-res) iPads/Pods/Phones, and Android devices).
I started reading an article over at Smashing Magazine’s site, http://coding.smashingmagazine.com/2011/01/12/guidelines-for-responsive-web-design/ and although it is becoming a bit aged (about a year and a half in the technology world is a long time!), it stills seems potently relevant and exciting! Without even finishing the article, my excitement (and A.D.D.) had me curious to see who had been utilizing these techniques! I found an abundant source over at www.awwwards.com ! It’s pure curiosity inducing and inspirational! So my next move is of course to continue studying what’s out there, finding what I like and how it works and then beginning to learn how to code JavaScript to make sites that I want to make, for myself and for others!Alright, I picked up my textbooks for my summer course “Traveling & Life: Finding Where You Want To Be.” Next up, assigning myself “projects!” Any suggestions?

Going to the gym, or a bike ride, or a car ride. Anything to get me out of my head. Production of endorphines helps and the breaking down of cortisol is an amazing natural reaction to repair a funky mood!
I lost this dude for a while, but ran across him again today. His name is Mattias Adolfsson and he is so inspiring because of his invention of so many characters, his extreme attention to detail and his pen and ink style. I can relate to this style and feel like our brains might be wired similarly.
Now I need to pull out my sketchbook and get to work!

Yesterday was the first ever Big Bash Obstacle Dash (and my first ever 5K!) in Quarryville, PA. I went with my good friends Jonah, Callie, Jenna, Dave, Kara and a handful of others.
We got to the event early to set up the PA and got the general run down of what the day had in store and then jumped in line for our dash bibs.
The dash included a tire shuffle, field of transporters to climb (I believe they were old horse trailers), plastic barrels, a mud pit, two sets of hot coals, and a paintball field…the rest I’ll keep a secret.
When we got to the Team Wall, we all worked together to get up and over the 10 foot wall to finish the race just a short distance beyond.
What an awesome time! Thanks guys!
I try to stay well rounded so I don’t become a square, but I’m tall, so I suppose a square I could never be anyhow.
